Large food manufacturers such as Kraft Canada, Kelloggs, Canada Dry Motts, General Mills, P&G, Pfanner and many more, donate large quantities of food to Food Banks Canada.
Food Banks Canada then distributes the food to provincial associations according to the hunger count that is done on a yearly basis. The provincial associations then distribute the food to member food banks throughout their province according to the hunger count.
Because of the vastness of BC, FBBC has 4 main hubs:
The Chilliwack Food Bank covers the Lower Mainland
The Mustard Seed Food Bank in Victoria covers the Island
The Vernon Food Bank covers the Interior
The 100 Mile House Food Bank covers Northern BC
These hubs then distribute the food to the food banks in their area.
